Recent data shows that in all the ways our municipality measures, Green House Gas (GHG) emission rates, they are increasing. In 2018, the City of Guelph set GHG emission reduction targets which stated that by 2030 we would reduce emissions by 63% in relation. Learn how we can get to this target?

Changes in our climate result from the accumulation of GHG such as carbon and methane in the atmosphere. GHG are byproducts from burning the fossil fuels we use to heat buildings, power turbines, fuel vehicles, and more. To mitigate climate change, we need to reduce our GHG emissions by decreasing fossil fuel consumption and using sustainable energy sources instead.
Successful municipal GHG reduction strategies require a whole-of-community approach to be successful.
Every job in our community is a climate job.
